"480 Minutes" 5/11/07 - new National, Maximo Park

If anyone has a spare Powerbook G4 (or better!) laying around, not doing much, BAGeL Radio is accepting donations. Screen rash? Dead pixels? Dents? Not a problem. The death of our faithful TiBook means no remote broadcasts or DJing shows until a replacement is found, so we need your help.

If you work at a technology shop or graphic design firm, ask an IT person if there are any disused Macs gathering dust in a closet somewhere -- they might just sell one to you cheap!

Or, if you already have one and have been thinking about upgrading to a Macbook or Macbook Pro, I for one say: go ahead! Treat yourself! You deserve it! Synch up all your old data, then send your old Powerbook this-a-way.

So...earlier this week it was 90 degrees here in San Francisco. 80s and up for 3 straight days. In early May. Now the forecast high through Monday is 61. Crazy.

As of the end of the day Thursday, 5/10/07, the Internet Radio Equality Act (H.R. 2060) was up to 63 co-sponsors. A list of those on-board is here. If your representative does not appear on this list, please contact them -- we are still about 100 co-sponsors short of what we need. Thanks.

Today's new songs includes music by Arctic Monkeys, Billy Harvey, Birds & Batteries, Electrelane, Epo-555, The Flesh, Hymns, Joan As Police Woman, Katastrophy Wife, Kite Operations, The Last Town Chorus, Love Of Diagrams, The Maccabees, Maximo Park, Mystery Jets, The National, The Parson Red Heads, Parts & Labor, Pela, Rabbit In A Sphere, Robbers On High Street, Scott Marrow, The Scruffs, The Transmissions, an interview with my 8-year old neice who is having a song she composed (for piano, violin, and flute) performed at a recital tonight in Manhattan, and selections from a compilation CD whose proceeds benefit At The Crossroads, a San Francisco organization that helps homeless youth. Featured artists include BAGeL Radio staples Rogue Wave, Elephone, Boyskout, Rykarda Parasol, Two Seconds, and Minmae.

Please tune in for the weekly marathon that is "480 Minutes" today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time. You can request songs and stuff via:
