"480 Minutes" - new Duke Spirit, Mae Shi, Speaker Speaker

Aren't you glad the Grammys are over? Me too! Nothing like parading a bunch of old fogies who haven't been a creative force in music for decades out in front of the kids to show off the irrelevance of your "industry."

For those of you in the Bay Area, if you are interested in blogging, podcasting, and/or internet radio, have I got the class for you. It's called Blogs, Podcasts, and Internet Radio, and I teach it. It meets Saturdays at the downtown SFSU campus , and you can sign up right now for the Spring semester, which begins on 3/1.

Also of interest to locals, the next BAGeL Radio Presents... event is just a week away. We'll be hosting the CD release party for the excellent new Love Is Chemicals album at Bottom of the Hill on Friday February 22nd. Come out early for The Fall meets angry Devo vibe of The Dont's and the always excellent HIJK.

Today's "480 Minutes" show will feature new music from 17 artists including Beach House (Baltimore, MD), The Billionaires (Los Angeles, CA), Born Ruffians (Toronto, Canada), Cult of Sue Todd (San Francisco, CA), Darla Farmer (Nashville, TN), Dawn Landes (New York, NY), Dirt Dress (Los Angeles, CA), The Duke Spirit (Cheltenham, UK), Empty Rooms (San Francisco, CA), Handsome Furs, (Montreal, Canada), Heat From A Dead Star (London, England), Jeffrey Lewis (New York, NY), The Mae Shi (Los Angeles, CA), Solid Gold (Minneapolis, MN), Speaker Speaker (Seattle, WA), These United States (Washington, DC), and Axel Wolph (Vienna, Austria).

Please tune in to "480 Minutes" today and every Friday. The show is live from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
