"480 Minutes" - BAGeL Radio Top Music of 2016

It only took a rigged election, a slaughter or 17 in Syria, the loss of too many music icons to recount, the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series, and an ongoing fascist attempt to wrest control of North Carolina from it's duly elected new Governor, but after all that we have finally reached the year-end top music show!

Tune in to BAGeL Radio today to hear our top 200 songs of 2016 -- today's playlist will be all 2016 music all day (except for a couple of things that were released too late in 2015 to make our previous year-end lists).

As always our Top Songs of the year countdown will begin with song #50 at 10 a.m. (the countdown will reach the top 10 around 12:30 p.m. and finish up around 1:00 p.m., depending on the song lengths and the amount of gabbing done by the exceptionally sleep-deprivation addled mind of your host), and the rest of the show will consist of our 150 or so other favorite songs of the year.

What's atypical about the year-end best-of show is during the extended 12-hour run-time, no requests are taken, and the rebroadcasts will begin 2 hours later than usual.

This show is always entertaining and always full of holiday gift ideas.  It's the show that proves to newcomers that BAGeL Radio will be their main source for new music in years to come, and to veterans that there was so much good music released this year that some of it slipped their minds!

The show runs from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time as the un-hosted portion stretches to 4 hours from 2 in order to accommodate the massive playlist of outstanding 2016 releases.

Text lists of the top 100 songs and top 100 albums will be published to our site and to our Facebook page over the weekend, along with a list of our favorite cover versions of the year, and favorite NY releases.

The program will be rebroadcast tonight (Friday) starting around 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and twice on Saturday 12/18 (9 a.m. and 9 p.m.).

The process of pouring over play counts, reviewing, weighting, playlisting, re-weighting, starting all over again, and checking everything twice went relatively smoothly, however as always there will be omissions, and we look forward to you pointing them out!
