"480 Minutes" - FluBeGone!

After battling with the flu for what seemed like a month I finally made it out this week for something other than an errand -- and it was glorious.  People noticing when you haven't been around, even when it's only been two weeks, is a great feeling!

So...Valentine's Day is coming up.  For many who are in a relationship that means a ton of pressure to do something super romantic, and for many who are not in a relationship it's several weeks of being constantly reminded of being single.  I've never enjoyed either side of that coin.  That said, if you are in a relationship and know two single people (or more than two, if they're into that kind of thing) who don't know each other but might like each other, why not ask them if they'd be interested in meeting someone?  It couldn't hurt...unless you are friends with a man of true integrity and honor and you can’t say enough good things about him like Rob Porter.  If said former White House secretary shows up with flowers in a vase it would probably best to call the whole thing off.

To celebrate our 15th birthday/anniversary last week we gave away 15 SomaFM t-shirts and BAGeL sticker/magnet packs.  Thanks to Rusty of SomaFM for being so generous, and congratulations to all of the winners: Jason (France), Luis (Brazil), Nikos (Greece), Phil (England), Dina (NY, NY), Don (Fair Oaks, CA), William (Glen Burnie, MD), Grant (Australia), Kevin (Las Vegas, NV), Dustin (Choctaw, OK), Anna (Great Neck, NY), Joel (Canada), Chris (Memphis, TN), George (Albany, NY), and Kristen (Baltimore, MD).

Today we will debut new music by The Frights (San Diego, CA, @TheFrights), Maxi's World (Northampton, MA), Mean Jeans (Portland, OR, @mean_jeans), tUnE-yArDs (Oakland, CA, @tuneyards), and Ty Segall (Los Angeles, CA).

Today's show runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time and is followed by 2 hours of uninterrupted music.  The show will then be rebroadcast in it's entirety beginning at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., and one final time on Sunday at 1 a.m., followed by a rebroadcast of this week's Fuzzy Road radio show at 11 a.m.
