Today is also the day we go all in on 2018 -- tune in to BAGeL Radio today to hear our top ~200 songs of 2018 -- today's playlist will be all 2018 music all day (with a couple of stragglers released too late in 2017 to be included in our last year-end show).
Last year we tried out new timing for the first time and it was a hit, so we're going with it again: our Top Songs of the year countdown will begin with song #50 at 11 a.m. ET instead of 10 a.m. We should reach the top 10 around 1:30-1:45 p.m. and finish up between 2:00-2:30 p.m. The rest of the show will consist of our 150 or so other favorite songs of the year including two sets of our favorite cover versions of 2018.
The year-end best-of edition of 480 Minutes is extended to a 12-hour run-time so the rebroadcasts will begin 2 hours later than usual and start up again every 12 hours over the weekend.
Catch up on 2018 in one day! The show is full of holiday gift ideas so keep a list and check it twice (that's what reruns are for!).
The show is live-hosted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time, then the un-hosted portion stretches to 4 hours (from the regular 2) in order to accommodate the massive playlist of fantastic 2018 releases. To be honest we're not going to get to all of our favorites, there were just too many this year.

The show will be rebroadcast tonight (Friday) starting at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, twice on Saturday 12/22 (9 a.m. and 9 p.m.), once on Sunday 12/23 (9 a.m.), and that will be followed by two year-end/best-of editions of 480 Minutes from previous years which will take us through 9 p.m. Christmas Eve.
We've spent the past couple of weeks listening to all 845 new songs that were added to rotation this year and arranging them and the albums they came from into lists. Several songs and albums I was certain would make their respective top 50 lists did not, shockingly, and while it's likely we missed something, I think we came up with some strong, representative lists.
