BAGeL Radio Friday Live 5/5/06-Coachella Pix!

Alec of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

... including the one above are posted here, with a few samples included beneath this post. Bands photographed include The Walkmen, Wolfmother, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, TV on the Radio, Eagles of Death Metal, Depeche Mode, The Rakes, Youth Group, Mates of State, Metric, Wolf Parade, Bloc Party, Gnarls Barkley, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Go! Team, Dungen, and Art Brut. I hope that you enjoy them. There are also photos from the Art Brut/Birdmonster show this week, bringing my total bands photographed thusfar to 114. In 2006. Seriously.

I had an amazing time, as usual, at Coachella. The big difference for me between this year and previous ones is that there were more bands that repulsed me than in the past. Not just bands that I didn't like, or bands that I thought sucked, but bands that were so out-of-genre that they made me shout, "Go home and give me back my festival!" From a selfish standpoint, having multiple Bonnaroo-ish bands play the festival is not necessarily a bad thing -- they drew people away from the bands I wanted to see. Sure, they also drew more tie die and patchouli and dreads and ratty beards and awful fashion to the festival, but what can you do...?

I've got some cool stuff to give away today including speaker sets from Logitech. To enter to win send an e-mail to 5 friends (include feedback@bagelradio.com) explaining why they should listen to the BAGeL Radio Friday Live broadcast. Winners will be chosen at random, but the quality and amount of gushing included will be appreciated.

New music today by artists including Anaura, Cut Copy, DeVotchKa, DulceSky (fellow shoegazer fans, check this band out!), Elf Power, Jeremy Warmsley, Jolie Holland, Jon Auer, The KBC, and Shooting At Unarmed Men (spawned of McClusky).

Today's BAGeL Radio Friday Live show starts at 9 a.m. Pacific Time and runs until 5 p.m. PT -- please tune in and request songs and stuff via:
