"480 Minutes" - Happy Passover & Good Friday

We just experienced a great stretch for live music here in San Francisco:  Dirty Ghosts and Chapter 24 at the Hemlock, then Fun. at Bottom of the Hill, then Young PrismsTerry Malts, and Cold Showers at Bottom of the Hill, and then the cherry on top: The Wedding Present (with my friend T. Jay, one of the few people I can sit and talk music with for an hour or two) at The Independent.  As always, seeing The Wedding Present made me pogo, feel, tear up, and smile with joy.

In the news this week, former Senator current MPAA shill Chris Dodd is gleefully working on a repackaged version of SOPA, while the Sweater Vest Crusader heralded a new right-wing attack on public universities, and right here in the San Francisco Bay Area, armed and masked IRS agents, DEA agents, and US Marshals raided legal, state-licensed medicinal cannabis sites.  If medical cannabis is even on the back page of the book of current threats to U.S. national security, we really ought to consider scaling back our immense defense budget a bit, don't you think?  Maybe spend some of that found money hiring unemployed people to shore up crumbling infrastructure?  Yeah, I know, that's crazy talk.

Anyway, today's show will feature new tunes by Breton (London, England), Dr. John (New Orleans, LA), Eight And A Half (Toronto, Canada), Emily Wells (Amarillo, TX), Freshkills (Brooklyn, NY), K. Flay (San Francisco, CA), Konrad (Rock Island, IL), Lower Dens (Baltimore, MD), Ramona Falls (Portland, OR), Ravens & Chimes (New York, NY), Sarah Jaffe (Dallas, Texas), Weird Dreams (London, England), White Arrows (Los Angeles, CA), Willis Earl Beal (Chicago, IL), and Young Hines (Nashville, TN).
