"480 Minutes" - Dead of Winter

It's Friday so it's time for 480 Minutes, the weekly 8-hour radio show during which we highlight all of our new playlist additions...of which there are quite a few today.  This large number of new songs is surprising because the Dead Of Winter (great movie) is usually a slow time of year for new releases.  It's not like we took it easy during reviews this week -- we passed on two things that should have been slam dunks: (1) a song that contained a sampled line of dialogue from one of my all-time favorite movies, "Annie Hall," and (2) a song called "Seltzer."  If I was reworking The Doors' "Back Door Man" the chicken line would be, "I drink more seltzer any man ever seen," 'cause it's true.

While it's the dead of winter here in Queens, NY, at 2 a.m. I was wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt when I put out the trash and it was lovely outside.  Go figure.

Anyway, we have some new music to debut for you during our weekly, live-hosted, award-winning 480 Minutes show today including songs by Cherry Glazerr (Los Angeles, CA, @CherryGlazerr), The Flaming Lips (Oklahoma City, OK, @theflaminglips), Grandaddy (Modesto, CA, @grandaddy), Honus Honus (Los Angeles, CA@honushonus), The Molochs (Los Angeles, CA, @The_Molochs), The Regrettes (Los Angeles, CA, @regrettesband), and Thigh Master (Brisbane, Australia).

The live-hosted, award-winning 480 Minutes program begins at 9 a.m. Eastern U.S. Time.

For those who can't listen during the live hosted hours the show is rebroadcast on Friday evenings beginning at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 5 a.m., and 3 p.m., and Sundays at 1 a.m. ET.
