480 Minutes - Dog Whistles Are So Aughts

The Tweet that finally got The Mouse to cancel Roseanne was racist. Anyone who denies that, even if they are ignorant of her history of racist comments and hateful Tweets, is a racist.  Yes, it really is that simple. They may not know that they are racists, but you know they are. They just proved it to you.

If they shift gears and say, "this is a free speech issue," calmly but firmly explain that freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. The First Amendment protects your right to walk up to the boss and yell, "fuck you you fucking fuck!" but it does not provide protection from the consequences of your action.

We do not have a ton of new music to add this week, probably in part because everything is now being compared with the towering new Parquet Courts and Courtney Barnett records, but we did find a few things.

Today's BAGeL Radio debuts will include new music today from Bad Times (reissue) (Memphis, TN), Beach Skulls (Manchester, England, @beachskulls), (Los Angeles, CA), Scent (London, England), and Shred Flintstone (Montclair, NJ).

The show is live-hosted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time and is followed by 2 hours of uninterrupted music.  The show is then rebroadcast in it's entirety beginning at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., and one final time on Sunday at 1 a.m., followed by a rebroadcast of this week's Fuzzy Road radio show at 11 a.m. and then a couple of old episodes of 480 Minutes from this week during years gone by, making for hosted shows all weekend long.
