480 Minutes - Boston Sucks

Boston sucks. There, I've said it. I've done my duty as a Yankees fan.

Tonight the team I've rooted for since childhood starts a playoff series against the Red Sox. Boston had an amazing 2018 season, winning 108 games, but the Sawx and their fans know that while 108 is great, it don't mean a thing if you ain't got that ring. I am looking forward to the battle.

In other news, the organization representing 100k Christian churches across the U.S. demanded the withdrawal Blackout Brett's Supreme Court nomination. That's a lot of Christians, churches that want Roe v. Wade overturned, churches that stand to gain from the Republican push to establish theirs as the national religion, yet they cannot accept this nominee. That...speaks...volumes. Trump will ignore it, of course, because it does not appear in Two Corinthians.

And, finally, an exhaustive investigative report revealed that for decades the so-called President of the United States, his father, and his adult children felt it necessary to cheat on their taxes to avoid paying their fair share for roads and schools and police and everything else that makes our society a society. Despite fabulous wealth they cheated on the shared responsibility of all citizens. Yet another scandal the size of Texas that would have brought down any politician in any time before Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, and we're hardly talking about it. Charlottesville, Helsinki, being named an unindicted co-conspirator, mocking a sexual assault survivor, and now, being revealed as tax cheat on a massive scale. It's unfathomable. All of it.

Today's BAGeL Radio debuts will include new music today from Death Valley Girls (Los Angeles, CA, @DeathValleyGrls), The Dodos (San Francisco, CA, @TheDodos), Les Big Byrd (Stockholm, Sweden, @lesbigbyrd), Low (Duluth, MN, @lowtheband), and  Phosphorescent (Brooklyn, NY, @phosphorescent).

The show is live-hosted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time and is followed by 2 hours of uninterrupted music.  The show is then rebroadcast in it's entirety beginning at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., and one final time on Sunday at 1 a.m., followed by a rebroadcast of this week's Fuzzy Road radio show at 11 a.m. and then a couple of old 480 Minutes episodes from this week in past years, so there will be hosted shows all weekend long.
