Intermittent Technical Difficulties

As of right this moment, BAGeL Radio is streaming and sounds great.

Unfortunately we've had intermittent tech issues of late. While still not sure exactly what is causing it, I believe we've narrowed it down considerably in the past 48 hours. Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it and find a remedy soon.

Technical Difficulties

We had some technical difficulties this morning. We are aware of and working on an issue that has caused songs to speed up and sound glitchy. There is evidence that our new internet service is the cause, so to eliminate that as a possibility, our stream was switched to our old ISP at 11:40 a.m. Eastern U.S. Time. If you notice anything glitchy, please feel free to send an e-mail to ted at somafm.com with specifics. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your help and patience.

No Fuzzy, Not Even A Rerun :(

We apologize for the technical difficulties last night and this afternoon.  Our internet service provider is having issues in our area causing intermittent drop outs. Due to this, at present we are running our (outdated) backup stream out of the SomaFM server room in SF. Hopefully this issue will be resolved in time for us to at least play you Fuzzy reruns at 11 p.m. Tuesday (Eastern U.S. Time) and 5 a.m. Wednesday. Again, all apologies.

We are currently experiencing network outages affecting our streams. We are working with our net proviers to resolve the issue. Once we are back on the air the replays of this week's 480 Minutes program will pick up where we left off.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Weekend Tech Difficulties

We experienced some technical difficulties yesterday. Apologies for any inconvenience.  For those who generally listen to the rebroadcast of 480 Minutes on Saturdays, we are making it up to you by playing the rebroadcast of the Friday 2/28 show today.  It is on now, and will repeat one more time beginning at 4p.m. Eastern Time.  Enjoy!

Apologies for the technical difficulties during 480 Minutes this morning.  The attempted remote broadcast was mainly a fail -- while the music streamed fine, I could not get the mic to work consistently enough. After 3 hours of banging my head into a wall, I have given up.  The playlist prepared for today continues unabated, uninterrupted.

And...We're Back.

After several days of running off of bare drives on desktops held together with duct tape and crossed fingers, I am thrilled to announced that BAGeL Radio is whole again.  These technical difficulties had nothing to do with the issues we ran into during the first few hours of 480 Minutes last week, each were completely separate and different, as were the ones that removed the station from the SomaFM apps -- as of right this moment it seems that all of those issues are in the rearview mirror.

Also, the SomaFM stream of the station has now been re-branded from 480 Minutes to BAGeL Radio, so when looking for us on the SomaFM site, mobile apps, or desktop apps, make sure you search for BAGeL Radio.

Sigh.  What a relief!

The station is online and streaming.  It's just hard to find!

BAGeL Radio/480 Minutes is currently not listed on the SomaFM mobile app, nor the SomaFM desktop app, and the popup player isn't working either.  All apologies.

We are in the process of re-branding the SomaFM stream from 480 Minutes to BAGeL Radio, and have hit a speed-bump along the way.

Temporary Outage This Evening

BAGeL Radio will be off the air for about one hour this evening as we perform some necessary plugging in and unplugging of stuff, followed by the requisite testing to make sure we didn't mess anything up.  We'll give you warning on the air when we're about to go silent.

Temporary Lo-fidelity

Hello listeners. Apologies for the issues with the BAGeL Radio Loudcaster stream this week. Technical difficulties at BAGeL HQ are to blame.

The stream is once again live, actual BAGeL Radio programming on both Live365 and Loudcaster; the diminished sound quality of the Loudcaster stream is due to the band-aid fix which is allowing the live broadcast to happen, not due to any problem with Loudcaster or your computer or Hosni Mubarak; we hope to have the issue resolved and the Loudcaster high fidelity live stream up and running again by Sunday. In the meantime please use earbuds -- everything sounds crappy through those, anyway! Thank you for your patience, and thank you for listening to BAGeL Radio.

Continuing Technical Difficulties...

...apologies for the inconsistent stream of late, been having network problems. Troubleshooting has been problematic because pre-existing network problems have been exposed by the newer ones. Fixes have been repeatedly undone by new, or pre-existing network issues.
