"480 Minutes" - Rocktober Begins

I've never been one to use the term "Rocktober," but this year it is truly fitting. There are so many great shows passing through the Bay Area this month it's like a music festival without the a festival (Treasure Island)! See below for details, or visit the complete Bay Area Gig eList here.

Today on BAGeL Radio we will feature new music from Califone (Chicago, IL), The Clientele (London, England), The Drums (Brooklyn, NY), The Grates (Brisbaine, Australia), The Horrors (London, England) Joel Plaskett (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada), Mission Of Burma (Boston, MA), Neato Fleets (Hastings-On-Hudson, NY), No Age (Los Angeles, CA), The Swimmers (Philadelphia, PA), Yo La Tengo (Hoboken, NJ), and The Invisible Kid (Queens, NY).

As always, we'd love to hear your feedback on the latest playlist additions and whatever else is on your mind. Write to us at

Please tune in today and every Friday to 480 Minutes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

For those of you in the Bay Area, next Wednesday (10/7) is the Ocotber Rumble at Harlot. I'll be there DJing along with Aaron Axelsen of Live 105/Popscene and Tom Thump, plus there will be intimate live mini-sets by Man/Miracle and Fitz & The Tantrums. RSVP info at
