"480 Minutes" - New Walkmen, Thermals, and Several Nashville Bands

Hello and happy final Friday of August. September is just around the corner -- that means the end of summer Fridays off for some, back to school for many, pennant races, Burning Man, another SF Rumble (9/8), and (hopefully) for us here in the San Francisco Bay Area, some nice weather for a change. We'll see how that last one pans out.

Now for the music...today
480 Minutes will feature new music from Bad Cop (Nashville, TN), Film School (San Francisco, CA), The Intelligence (Seattle, WA), Jeff The Brotherhood (Nashville, TN), Kyle Andrews (Nashville, TN), Les Savy Fav (Brooklyn, NY), Radars To The Sky (Los Angeles, CA), Sonny & The Sunsets (San Francisco, CA), The Thermals (Portland, OR), The Wagner Logic (Kasilof, Alaska), The Walkmen (New York, NY), and !!! (Brooklyn, NY).

Please tune in today and every Friday to 480 Minutes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

PS - While all you are seeing and hearing on the news is the non-story about the "Ground Zero Mosque" that is neither a mosque (it is a cultural center) nor at Ground Zero (it is two blocks away), there is actual good news about what the Obama Administration has been up to. Also, pitch-perfect news about Republicans blocking funding for 9/11 First Responders while fanning the "Ground Zero Mosque" smokescreen that was started by a crazy blogger who believes that Malcom X is President Obama's father (she probably also thinks he's a Muslim and was born in Kenya, but I don't have time to research the views of said loon any further).

Below is a new video from The Thermals starring Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney with an Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse) cameo at the end:
