"480 Minutes" - new R.E.M., J. Mascis, Buffalo Tom

This is the pre-SXSW 2011 edition of 480 Minutes, which means next Friday will either be a re-run or a remote broadcast from Austin, TX. Haven't quite figured that out yet, but will let you know.

Thanks to all three bands who rocked the Rumble this week: Grand Lake, The Tellers, and The Spyrals. All three sounded great...even through the pain and misery of my migraine headache. A shout-out to Milk Bar sound engineer Paul, without whose care the sound would not have been so good. I had to recline in the DJ booth during their sets so that the flashing stage lights didn't make my pounding left temple explode and spill brains all over the bar, but hey -- you do what you have to do. The show must go on, and all that.
