"480 Minutes" - Pre-CMJ Edition

Want to learn about your BAGeL Radio listening options?  Visit our updated-today-for-the-first-time-this-decade listen page.

Today we are live an in person, as we are almost every Friday for the longest-running live hosted music show in the history of internet radio, 480 Minutes.  Next week (10/21) will be a re-run because I will be in NYC for the 2011 CMJ New Music Marathon.   If you are going to be in NY next week you should swing by the SomaFM meet-up at The Abbey Bar in Brooklyn on Thursday 10/20 from 6pm to 8pm.  It's my friend Tim's favorite bar in NY, so it's gotta be good.

All that is to say, get in touch this week during the show or for two weeks hold your breath!  Let us know what you think of the music and the host and the commentary and Occupy Wall Street and sliders and iOS 5 and The Blue Angels and pomegranates:

During live show hours (Fridays, 9a.m. - 5p.m. Pacific Time) please get in touch in real-time:
e-mail: bagelradio[at]gmail[dot]com
Yahoo IM/GoogleTalk: bagelradio
AOL/iChat: bagelradiolive

Speaking of today's show, it will feature new music from Björk (Reykjavik, Iceland), Casiokids (Bergen, Norway), Crooked Fingers (North Carolina), Fanfarlo (London, England),  The Good Natured (Berkshire, England), Gringo Star (Atlanta, GA), Jeffrey Lewis (New York, NY), and We Were Promised Jetpacks (Edinburgh, Scotland).

Housekeeping: please "like" our new Facebook page.

To see the album art and song titles while listening on your smartphone or tablet, try one of the TuneIn Radio apps.

If you are listening with good headphones or speakers, try out our highest fidelity stream provided by SomaFM here.  You can also try their most excellent pop-up player here, or buy the SomaFM Radio Player desktop app.

Lyric Of The Week: "Do I have to be magical?/Can't we date a few months then move on, normal and casual? /Suicidally alone and then totally smothered/ It's so much pressure when you go from one extreme to the other." - Jeffrey Lewis, "Cult Boyfriend"
