In the morning Andrew of Anchors for Architects will stop by for a chat, then Lemon Sun will pile into the studio, sit on each others' laps, and play a couple of acoustic songs.
Besides the visitors, today's "480 Minutes" is going to be very different from of last weeks show, which was pretty much devoid of brand new material. This week I listened to all the new stuff that arrived last week AND this week and found a whole lot to my liking, so the show will include at least 35 never-before-played on BAGeL Radio songs including new stuff from The Rapture, Mountain Goats, Peaches, Eric Bachmann, Xiu, Xiu, The Grates, Hammell On Trial, Toy Gun Cowboy, Up Up Down Down Left Right BA Start, Under the Influence of Giants, Towers of London, Streaky Jake, Simon Dawes, Richard Thompson, PaperRoute, One Ring Zero, Kevin Devine, Jeremy Messersmith, Heavens, Darlington, Papercranes, The Ebb & Flow, and Love Arcade. There will also be music by Spencer Dickinson -- which features Jon Spencer -- from a one-off project recorded about 5 years ago that, until now, was only available on a Japanese record label.
