Today on 480 Minutes we will debut no new music. Seriously. Not a single debut today. Why, you may ask, are there no debuts on our signature new music show? Because. So there.
Actually there is a reason -- it is at this time of year that we take a step back to review all of the great new music we discovered and loved this year and try to discern which are our favorites. When you review 500-800 new songs a week, reviewing 48 weeks of playlist additions (1000+ songs) requires attention as undivided as possible in our smartphone, cable tv, video game, and social media-cluttered world.
Next Friday, December 12th, the 480 Minutes program will be dedicated to all 2014 music, including the countdown of our top 50 songs of the year, and the unveiling of our top 50 albums of the year, so make sure you catch next week's show.
Today's show will focus on the most recent new playlist additions because we haven't had the time to get to know them as well as the records that ran their full rotation course earlier in the year. It's also the show where you get one last chance to influence our year-end charts, so please pipe up and let us know what you loved and what you want to hear next week.
