"480 Minutes" - Dummy Turns 25

I urge you to read about the ongoing destruction of the Amazon rain forest which produces 20% of the world's oxygen. Smoke from the fires currently destroying "the lungs of the earth" apparently blocked out the sun over Brazil's largest city earlier this week.

Also I was pleased to see the American Evangelical community finally -- finally! -- break with the Dotard after he publicly repeated and basked in the glow of some shocking, profane, and sacreligious quotes about himself. I kid, of course. The loudest of the "holier than thou even thought they got caught knocking up their undocumented maid and paying for her abortion but then asked for and received forgiveness from someone who has probably done worse" crowd have been quieter than a long-dead church mouse.

Finally, Portishead's classic debut album Dummy turned 25 years old this week, so it will only be covered by its parents' health insurance for one more year.

Today's 480 Minutes show will feature so much new music including new songs by Black Belt Eagle Scout (Portland, OR, @blackbelteagles), Dry Cleaning (London, England), Kim Gordon (Los Angeles via Sonic Youth, @KimletGordon), King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard (Melbourne, Australia, @kinggizzardband), Major Stars (Boston, MA, @majorstarsband), The Murder Capital (Dublin, Ireland, @MurderCapital_), Redd Kross (Hawthorne, CA, @reddkross), RIDE (Oxford, England, @RideOX4), Seratones (Shreveport, LA, @Seratones), and Shikoswe (Bergen, Norway via Zambia, @skikoswesongs). You don't want to miss this one, it would be like missing the day at school when they explained fractions. Sorta.

480 Minutes is live-hosted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time and is followed by 2 hours of uninterrupted music. The show is then rebroadcast in it's entirety beginning at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., and one final time on Sunday at 1 a.m., followed by a rebroadcast of this week's Fuzzy Road radio show at 11 a.m. and then a couple of old 480 Minutes episodes from this week in past years, making for hosted shows all weekend long.

If you have trouble remembering when the live-hosted shows and re-runs air, check out the extremely crappy-looking program schedule embedded here:
