"480 Minutes" - GOP vs. USA

There's been a great deal of talk about what Trump crony Louis DeJoy has done to slow down the mail and otherwise sabotage the United States Postal Service on behalf of his master in an admitted attempt to suppress the vote. All the really matters is that #Individual1 and his flunky are guilty of federal crimes for said sabotage -- and that's not even including #TrumpleThinSkin tweeting out the real reason for undermining a federal agency relied on by millions. That's the story. At any other time in U.S. history political and thought leaders from both sides of the aisle would have impeached and removed him over this already.

In happier news, one-time #FuckfaceVonClownStick campaign chief and top White House advisor Steve Bannon was arrested this week. Apparently he ran a sham PAC that crowdsourced $25M to "Build The Wall" from the same clear-headed (and by clear-headed I mean Fox-lobotomized) marks who believed #TheOrangeMenace when he proclaimed, "Mexico will pay for the wall" and "I won't have time to golf" over and over again. Voter suppression expert Kris Kobach (who was mentioned in a different context in this space just last week!) is general counsel to this grifter's delight operation, and former baseball player and current "COVID-19 hasn't even killed as many people as the flu" wing nut Twitter star Kurt Schilling is on the advisory board.

It really is nice to see more of the original "Lock Her Up" traitors getting locked up themselves, even if the #StableGenius who knows no shame pardons them, too.

Had similar outcomes had befallen the Iran-Contra crew (who subverted the Constitution in service of an illegal shadow foreign policy) and the top Cheney administration officials (who lied us into launching a war of aggression against a sovereign nation which did not attack us), perhaps this current crop of GOP grifters would have felt a tad bit less above the law. Probably not, but those of us who remember the Republican Party before Newt "never compromise" Gingrich can dream.

Finally, if you haven't seen the devastation wrought via Twitter on Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio after Rubio flat out lied about the damning report released by the senate committee he leads on criminal foreign election interference, it is worth a read. The GOP 2020: traitors, enablers, liars, grifters, all following a damaged know-nothing sociopath with authoritarian tendencies. Can't wait to hear all about how swell #CadetBonespurs is from the speakers at the Republican Convention next week!

Oh, hey, now that sports betting is legal everywhere and promoted to anyone with a television regardless of age because that's totally good for society, especially the poor -- does anyone know the over-under on Mike Pence getting killed by a racist St. Louis couple this weekend clearing the way for Nikki Haley to energize the base as the #Drumpf's replacement VP (at least until they find out that she was born Nimrata Randhawa to -- gasp! -- immigrants).

Today's show is live-hosted from 9am-5pm Eastern U.S. Time and feature new music by Bully (Nashville, TN. @bully), Folk Devils (London, England, @Folk_Devils_UK), Frankie and the Witch Fingers (Los Angeles, CA, @FrankieAndTheW1), Hum (Champaign-Urbana, IL, @humbandofficial), and Secret Machines (Dallas, TX and New York, NY, @TheRealMachines).
