"480 Minutes" - Georgia Criminalizes Kindness

This week Georgia passed sweeping voter suppression laws, the worst of which basically allows the Georgia legislature to throw out the results of an election if they don't like the outcome. That is an all-out attack on representative democracy.

One other restriction makes is a crime to offer water or snacks to voters waiting in line to vote:  Georgia...made...kindness...a...misdemeanor.

The party which lost by 7 million votes despite employing extreme gerrymandering, voter suppression, attempts to sabotage the U.S. Postal Service, and having baked-in structural advantages including the Electoral College, knows it can't win without cheating. It failed to win in 2020 even with all of that cheating, and is now openly trying to subvert our system of government.

"If you want to understand how white Supremacy works,

135 white people just rigged an election in broad daylight and they arrested a Black woman for knocking on the door to watch." -Tweet by Michael Harriot

Sorry filibuster. You had a nice run, but right now you are a way for the minority party (which, according to polling on gun control, COVID relief, and the new President, doesn't even represent its voters) to undo The American Experiment. You gotta go.

Today we will debut new music by Glass House (Boston, MA), Haunted Shed (Athens, GA), and Xiu Xiu (Los Angeles, CA).
